Hello,

On an on-premise Dynamics 8.2.19.13, SQL Server 2014, Visual Studio 2010 and Server Tools for it.

Reporting Authority 9 version.

I am trying to create custom reports with Visual Studio and Server Tools.

I select Report Project Wizard, select Dynamics 365 Fetch and use my computername/OrganisationName (I am trying this on the PC which is the server and everything) and after the pop-up show up i select ON PREMISE, enter my Administrator account and password.

And nothing happens. If i enter the incorrect password, i get an error, but otherwise, if everything is OK i click LOGIN and nothing happens.

Infinite loop.

What log should i attached in order for you to be able to help me?

Thanks,
Alex

    Hello,

You're on-prem. You can use SQL Connection instead. Why do you want to use FetchXml instead? Do you plan to use your report in cloud deployment later?

    Hello nestian,

    I hope you are well.

I agree with Andrew, using Onprem environment you could use SQL connection directly.

Moreover, you could review the Credential Manager (Control Panel) in order to wipe up any cached credential as well.

    Hello, Gustavo!

    Hello, Andrew!

I was trying with 365 Fetch because i got used to it and it was easy to export the XML from CRM, add it to Server Tools without writing code for SQL; which i honestly do not know but i will try and find out how to connect directly to SQL server and get the info from them.

As for the question Andrew left: i want to add this custom report to the CRM (still on premise) so that any of my user be able to run this report I am trying to configure.

I tried deleting the credentials and nothing worked.

Try to use "Use Windows Authentication" in the "Datasource Credentials" screen and use "Use default credentials" in the next one.

    Tried it, nothing.

I press login and nothing happens
