5A Read-Only Grid can only display static data. Dynamics 365 data occasionally needs to be visualised in ways other than just columns, so this is important.
Your custom records or customizations may, in the majority of cases, have Start End Dates, which are best seen visually. Calendar Control enters the picture here.
