Debug In AX 7

Hi,

I am trying to debug one job but break point is not hitting while I start debug. It is giving the break point will not currently be hit. No symbols have been loaded for this document.

Normal debugging I am able to do like some code I have written in some table and put debugger in that code and attaching process w3wp and from cloud entering some data in that field. It is going for debugging.

For job I am selecting job as runnable object and start debugging. Is there anything I am missing to do? (Step)

Regards,

Smit

Try unchecking "Load symbols only for items in the solution" check box from  VS > Dynamics 365> Options > Dynamics 365 > Debugging.

And I didn't understand what you meant by "entering data from cloud".

    Hi Basheeruddin Mohammad,

Thanks for your reply. Entering data from cloud means entering data from instance.

Anyways one more thing I observed, It is not hitting for forms which I created. Debugger is working only for inbuilt forms.

Solution you suggested did not work for me. I think some setup is missing. I tried to clean solution build/rebuild and all.

    Hello Smit,

If the debugger is hitting inbuilt forms, it will surely work for customized objects too.

Anyways, I come to the point. verify the steps as mentioned below before you start debugging

    1. set the project as startup project

    2. set the runnable class as startup object

    3. put the breakpoint at the required line

    4. go to the debug menu, select attach process.(this step not required for runnable classes).

    5. select processes from all users check box.(this step not required for runnable classes).

    6. select all w3wp process instances and click on attach.(this step not required for runnable classes).

    7. wait until all symbols are loaded.(this step not required for runnable classes).

    8. start debugging. It should hit breakpoint.

    Thanks,

    Thanks Saddaf.

It worked for me. May be I was not following proper sequence of doing debug.

I had the same problem and with the help of my friend Arnaldo Ono I found the solution, you need to load Load All Symbols in Visual Studio> Debug> Options> Debugging> Symbols> Load All Symbols.

Would you mind sharing a screenshot?

Which kind of environment is this? Local VHD, Cloud hosted environment in your Azure subscription, or a Microsoft managed environment?

Has it ever worked for you? Did you recently install any Microsoft D365FO updates on the system?

Your screenshot shows you already have the correct setup = Load all symbols. It's just below the red mark in the picture.

Do you have some problem with debugging?
