How do I configure my VSTS workspace for Dynamics 365 for Operations development?

When I first connected to the VSTS project we'd setup for Dynamics 365 for Operations, it had created a tree structure with 2 branches - $/DynamicsAX/Trunk/DEV/Metadata and $/DynamicsAX/Trunk/DEV/Projects. After some reading, I decided that the workspace should be mapped to local folders  as:

$/ -> ..C:/Users/.../Documents/VS2015/Projects

$/DynamicsAX/Trunk/DEV/Metadata -> J:/AosService/PackagesLocalDirectory

$/DynamicsAX/Trunk/DEV/Projects -> C:/users/.../Documents/VS2015/Projects/DynamicsAX

I now feel this is probably incorrect and I'm misunderstood the instructions.

How is it recommended the workspace be mapped to local folders on a standard DEV instance of Dynamics 365 for Operations? I haven't found this anywhere in the wiki, but perhaps haven't used the right search terms.

    Technically speaking, Metadata and Projects aren't, or shouldn't be, branches. They're folders in in the same branch.

    Your setup looks fine. You can find a confirmation on the wiki in Configuring your VSTS mapping during code migration.

    Thanks. That article shows my setup is as it should be.
