There is no fast way to do that. AX is role-based and not module-based, which means to be able to do your job as an employee you need to have access to various modules of the system at the same time. That is why we call AX an Integrated ERP system.

Creating one privilege with all entry points doesn't make sense. It is a hell of a job. The concept of a privilege is that some functional related permissions are grouped.

A duty will roll up multiple privileges to be able to perform certain jobs/tasks in AX. The role has one or more duties (privileges as exception) to be able to fulfill a job role in AX.

Creating a role and add all duties related to a module is the correct way and is also much quicker.

Note that some entry points are located in multiple menus. In that case the user can see multiple menus with this same menu item.

    Thanks André Arnaud de Calavon!

Unfortunately our Business Leader want role for "Financial Admin" with whole privilige to General Ledger thats why i`m asking.

"Creating a role and add all duties related to a module is the correct way and is also much quicker. " is there any file/site/info from AOT in VS where i can found information about description of duty. Is there any segregation duties on module?

    thanks for help!

I don't think the business leader is asking you to do a hard job. The background of the question is: create a role for "Financial Admin". Explain him about the best and quickest way to do this. Maybe he/she is not fully aware of the complete security architecture.

The security development tool available on LCS can help you finding the duties required for the financial features.

    Hi Martin_,

No there is no SDT for AX7. You can actually do a security analysis on every form in AX7. In the submenu Options you will find a menu item called 'Security diagnostics'. From there you can find which roles, duties and privileges do manage permissions for the current entry point.
