Change SalesLine order

Hi there,

I have a question regarding sales lines. In the purch Table it is possible to change the order of the lines by editing the line number.

Now I want the same with the sales lines, is this possible? 

I already tried  editing the field linenum, but that is not possible. Also the line number of PurchLine is an integer and the LineNum of SalesLine is a real, does anybody know why?

    Hi,

    You won't be able to change the line number in sales order lines. The table has this field set to non-editable. You will need to delete and re-create the lines in the order you need.

    I am not sure why line number is type integer in PurchLine  and is real in SalesLine.

    Hi Dominikgr,

    In previous versions, the line numbers were both a real type field. As of AX 2012, the purchase order was changed to have an integer which could be used to communicate with your vendors or external applications. Using change management, you are then able to refer to individual lines (e.g. change quantity or delete lines).

    This has not been implemented on the sales lines. You can create an integer field yourself by extending the table and add additional logic like Microsoft did on the purchase order lines.
