Dynamic 365 and File Sharing

Hi,

We currently use AX 2012 and have our file share on file servers. Going forward with D365 F&O what options are available for file sharing.

Files will require security structure similar to what we have on file server

Files may be shared and used by different parties within the company

Files may contain formulas, linked to reports etc

What is a practical solution to replace a traditional file server. Are one drive / share point options manageble?

    Hi Isaac,

    As your question is about Dynamics 365, I have moved it to another forum.

    There is no direct way of storing files on a share. The data management feature is able to create a file that must be downloaded from the application. Or for import, the file should be uploaded.

    You can use a Recurring Integration Scheduler to download or upload the files with e.g. Windows shares or SharePoint and OndDrive. GitHub - microsoft/Recurring-Integrations-Scheduler: Recurring Integrations Scheduler (RIS) is a solution that can be used in file-based integration scenarios for Dynamics 365 Finance and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. 

    In addition, based on the exact requirements, we have an ISV solution (Connectivity Studio) where you can configure integrations and use several cloud storage options as endpoint.
