Using WMS, how to return unused picked materials in a production order

Hi all,

Are there practical way to return unused picked raw materials to another location? Suppose for a production order I need item A with 50 PCS. Item is picked from bulk locations and then put in production input location. Now production order only use 45 PCS, so 5 PCS is remained at production input location. Picking list journal is reported with 45 PCS used. How do we return unused 5 PCS?

This is what I do now, I unpick 5 PCS, then I create movement work for it. Is this the only way to do it or is there any faster way to do it. I will have problem if many items unused, I will have to repeat those steps with the number of unused item.
