Hi!

Our GP users are getting error when they try to open notes in MS GP 10. They are getting an error that says, "You have too many note windows open. Close a note window. They have no notes opened yet but they are getting the error. Where is the notes located in the server and what are the maintenance should I do to prevent this?

Thank you in advance for your help!

I suspect the problem is actually with the location the notes are being shared from. Can you copy the file to another server or make a local copy to see if this is the issue?

    Hi Kirk,

After 2 days our users are calling again saying that they are getting the error message again and notes won't pop up. I tried recopying the old dex.ini to program files, Dynamics GP folder and it didn't resolve the problem. I guess there should be a folder or cache that needed to be cleaned up. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

I found an old dex.ini on our GP server and replaced the new one located on program files  GP folder. Thank you so much for the help, Kirk!

You can locate the notes file by checking the path in the client dex.ini file. For this situation I would start with replacing the dex.ini file with a known working file from another workstation. If that didn't resolve the issue I would recommend checking the allowed number of concurrent connections on whatever server that the file resides on.

    Regards,

    Kirk
