    Hi,

    Thank you for your query.

You cannot directly call a plugin using the ribbon button. The correct approach is to create an action and call it using the JS function (bound) to a button.

Anyhow, there are indirect ways to call a plugin from a ribbon button:

    • Create a ribbon button and set its action to a custom JavaScript function.
    • Then, create a field (lets a flag/two-optonset field).
    • Register your plugin on change of this field (Message=Update, Filter Attributes = <this field>).
    • From the button JS function, update the value if this field and save the form, this will force the plugin to be executed.

Basically, plugins are bound to an event, you need to perform that event from your JS function, it could be create of a record, update of record, etc.

If you wanna go through the Action route, look at the following:

So it is very easy let me divide this into smaller parts.

    1. Create a button on the ribbon.

    Link : www.briteglobal.com/.../

    2. Add a JavaScript on that button which will call the Action(It is a type of an Workflow/Process which will call the plugin assembly).

You can also create "Action call JavaScript" using the CRM REST Builder easily without any issues.

    3. Create plugin code and use with the Action which you have created.

    Link : www.linkedin.com/.../

when you add a link between this 3 parts you will achieve your goal.

Please let me know if you need any help related with this.

    Thank you,

    Amit Katariya
