NAV 2009 R2 Database Restore

Posted on by 1,762

Experts,

I am trying to restore the backup file of a database to a newly created database.

While restoring I am facing an error saying "The File 'C:\Yogesh\NAV02272018' was not found".

Whereas my backup file is located at C:\Yogesh and my backup filename is NAV02272017.

I think after reaching to a particular size, SQL makes up the next file with immediate file name, there might be something going wrong.

Kindly help.

- Yogesh

    Thanks Rajasekhar for your Reply.

Unfortunately, client has provided single file only, so the error.

Just now confirmed with client that there are 2 other files which basically needs to be there in the same folder for NAV to understand and pick-up accordingly while restoring.

    Hi Yogesh

If you take Backup from NAV in classic, if the database size is too big the backup will be created multiple files with incrementing the last number given in the file name, for ex if you given NAV02272017, there will be another .fbk file / files like NAV02272018,NAV02272019.

so keep all those fbk files in one folder and while restoring select the first fbk file NAV02272017.

Backup is been taken from NAV (.fbk) and not from SQL (.bak).
