Hello,
In current project we are testing usability of Dynamics 365 App for Outlook (currently testing on Dynamics 365 v. 9.0.6.9). In cooperation with local ADFS and Exchange administration we've managed to configure this addin to work fine with Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises) box organization. However, each restart of Outlook requires also manual sign in (ADFS forms auth page) to Dynamics 365 on first attempt to use addin by clicking Dynamics 365 button. Same behavior is being observed in Outlook for desktop and OWA.
I know this is related to the fact, that Outlook app's auth address is configured for external IFD Dynamics 365 url (i.e. https://box.serverdomain/) and CRM is using ADFS forms authentication page for that, not WIA one, as on intranet url. Also, it behaves exactly same as using Dynamics organization using IE browser and external url - when IE is closed, it's losing session and authentication is required once more.
Still, many target users will use Outlook in a local domain, so it would be nice to avoid that manual authentication process for them, like when using an internal access in web browser. I would be grateful if someone is familiar with that issue and could point me out, whether it's a problem that can be resolved with proper configuration, or maybe it's just how it is and cannot be resolved in any supported way?
Best regards,
Radek.
