I am looking ways to manage contracts in D 365 Sales. Have anyone successfully done so? What is the best way to manage contracts, e.g. renewal?

Thanks,

Jasmine

    Hi Jasmine,

Unfortunately, the Contract entity is deprecated and it is no longer available, it has been replaced by the entitlements entity.

    Please refer to https://community.dynamics.com/365/sales/f/dynamics-365-for-sales-forum/389499/how-to-enable-contract-entity

For how to create entitlements, please refer to this document: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-service/create-entitlement-define-support-terms-customer

    Hi Jasmine,

You should see the Dock 365 website, in my opinion. It is an online platform that provides the greatest and most reasonable options and that will assist you in properly managing your contracts. Dock 365's Contract Management Software is now providing more value to sales and marketing teams with its Dynamics 365 integration. Sales teams can also benefit from this platform to go above and beyond what sales force automation is capable of in order to increase customer satisfaction. Your sales performance, business productivity, and interpersonal connections will all improve as a result. Being a flexible, contemporary platform, it may also innovate the entire business process. They provide you with reminders before it's too late, helping you to avoid the contract's automatic renewal.

Contract management is tedious and time-consuming, but it doesn't have to be. With Dock 365, you can easily manage the contract lifecycle for all your sales processes, eliminating the time-consuming tasks associated with managing contracts.

Dock 365 already provides a contract management solution that helps you better utilize your investment in Microsoft 365. If you are an organization utilizing Dynamics 365, then this new integration with Dock 365 will enable you to get double value out of your Microsoft licenses.

    Hi Jasmine,

Yes, this is a common challenge in Dynamics 365 Sales since contract management isn’t fully structured out of the box.

What I’ve seen work well is using a combination of standard entities and some customization:

    • Use Opportunities or custom entities to track contract lifecycle
    • Set up renewal dates with reminders/workflows
    • Use Power Automate for renewal alerts and follow-ups
    • Store contract documents in SharePoint integration

This works fine for basic needs, especially if you’re managing a smaller volume.

However, if your contracts involve more complexity (renewals, billing cycles, amendments, compliance), then it usually makes sense to look at a more structured solution. I’ve seen implementations using Microsoft Dynamics 365 combined with industry solutions like those from Dynamic Netsoft , which handle contract lifecycle, tracking, and integration with finance much more effectively.

So it really depends on how advanced your contract process is  simple setup vs a more scalable system.

    Hope this helps!
