Individual (unshared) financial dimensions per legal entity

Hi, 

Is it possible in AX2012 R3 to have different financial dimensions per legal entity with different chart of accounts. 

For example Comp A would have Business Center and Site, while Comp B Department and Employee. 
Is it possible that dimensions of one company will be not visible at the another (even before indicating them in the accounts structure). 

Is it possible to have shared dimension with individual different values for each company? 
For example Cost Center would be shared but for company A only values CC1 aand CC2 are avaliable and for the company B CC3 and CC4 are visible.

    Hi YuliyaYemel,

    You can have 'local' financial dimensions that are only setup and used in a single company.

    This is realized by setting up a new financial dimension in GL with the 'custom dimension' type.

    Shared financial dimensions, such as the business unit, department and so on are available in all companies. If you do not like a specific business unit to be used in a specific company, you can limit that by making use of the account structures and defining that this specific business unit is not allowed to be used in your company.

    Hi Ludwig,

    thanks for the quick response.

    Indeed shared financial dimensions I can easily share between companies and after apply the advanced rule to restrict some specific dimension values to specific companies.

    But about unshared/individual dimensions is still not clear to me, as I have now all my dimensions created with 'custom dim' type and still can see them in the other companies.  So now they are all shared and I would like to have just few shared and other individual to each company. How to create such a individual/'local' dimension which will be visible in GL/Setup/Fin dim/Fin dim only for the specific company.

    Hi YuliyaYemel,

    Regarding the 'custom dim' financial dimension:

    You can - for example - limit their usage by specifying that a specific financial dimension value is suspended in for a company.

    In my example for company DEMF

    This has a similar effect than specifying account structures and excluding given financial dimensions from those structures.
