CE throughput expectations

Posted on by 115

Hi Everyone,

We've got a CE application which needs to create and update hundreds of thousands of records daily. Currently we're experiencing throughput of about 20 creates/updates per second. This is for very simple update (1 field on an entity), plugins/logic all turned off. We've also tried a variety of batching/parallelism to see if this can improve - however we seem to get stuck around the 20/second throughput.

What's the general expectation here around CE throughput? 20/second is 72k per hour (for the simplest update), but we were expecting/hoping for a higher throughput? I seem to recall people getting 350-500k updates per hour in D365 CE?

FYI We're not hitting any rates/service protection limits yet.

MS doesn't provide any public guidance on this do they? I can't find anything other than a very old whitepaper for CRM2016 online, which is rather useless now :).

Guidance/advice/experience would be great thanks!

Cheers
