Offline line database

Hello,  I am attempting to sync the offline database on one of our 10 registers.  1 register will not sync.  After Z-ing the register an error pops up "error restart program" then another window pops and say "offline sync complete".  Upon verifying, the database is not synced or up to date.  I have tried creating a new offline db and uninstalling and re-installing RMS.  Nothing seems fix the error.  Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that the time and date is accurate using an ntp time server. Had issues due to slight time differences between computers and syncing.

Did anyone find a resolution to this issue

I am having the same exact issue with a new hardware refresh installation.  We are using Windows 10 professional with SQL Express 2012 on the database and the offline database will not sync.  No third part add-on.  Firewall off.  Antivirus off.  Have used both machine name and IP address for database connection.  Have deleted and recreated the offline database.  Connects to the main database and operates without issue throughout day.  Only think I haven't tried is a SQL reinstall.  I have this same set up working elsewhere so I do not believe it is related to Windows 10 or SQL 2012.

    RE: Offline line database

    Hi Butch,

    1. Yes for my store we have 2 registers and this one is not syncing.

    2. This is a "new" setup with Windows 7 pro 32bit. (replaced XP Hardware)

    3. RMS 2.0.2018

    4. Sql Server 2008 R2 Express with Backwards Compatibility installed. I have followed all of "Jeff's of Check Point" suggestion for setting up Sql Server 2008 R2 Express found in this forum.

    5. The POS connects to the primary database and I can connect to the offline as a (local) primary database if I switch it through SO Admin. But of course there is no data in the data file because it won't sync. So currently I switched back to the primary active database and am not using the offline feature until I can sort this out.

I looked at the kb article and I believe I am following the procedures. I have set up all my other registers (2 stores using HQ with total of 5 POS') with no issues, and all are identical hardware except a few are 64bit processors.

I was hoping for a solution to avoid uninstalling sql 2008 express, but that might be the correct action to take. Let me know your thoughts and thanks for your input.

    1. Does that mean the other 9 registers sync without error?

    2. Is this machine a Windows 8.1 machine or Windows 10 machine Professional or Higher?

    3. What version and build of RMS?

    4. What version and build of SQL?

    5. Does the POS connected to the primary database without error or can you ping the store server from the POS?

Is this the KB you followed: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/836403

Look forward to your replies, this isn't enough information I regret to work with.

    Thank you

These questions are also applicable to you Grier.

    RE: Offline line database

Mabuhay! Hi! Did you create offline before you sync? One of the problem is when you do offline mode on POS and accidentally created one then you sync the data from your previous off database will not be visible on server as what we experienced. We trace the date on POS if that transaction just got to other date or time just like your experience we've lost also those data.  Lessons learned don't forget to sync first th original offline database.

For the safety precaution, we backup first that offline db so we can set that db on its ps so we can check if that database consist of sales.
