Offline Database data - to many data records

Hi experts,

is there a way to limit the data that is synchronized to the offline database of the cash register?
Currently, for example, all INVENTDIM data records are transferred even if they are not all used on the cash register, which leads to unnecessary memory usage.

Thanks!

This is an issue that we often face especially when you are using SQL Express for offline DBs. InventDIM is not something you can completely remove from offline channel DB. Some tips we tried and helped are-
    1.  Housekeeping the assortment - Retailers usually add a category to assortments which will flood the assortment with items that you dont sell anymore. We recommend frequent housekeeping to mark a product as stopped if it is not in stock and will not be sold anymore. Process assortment will skip these items and the data related to these items will not be sent to channel DB.
    2. Enable POS offline database Compression in feature management -  https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/commerce/dev-itpro/cdx-best-practices#enable-table-and-index-compression
    3. Also, refer - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/commerce/dev-itpro/cdx-best-practices

    Thanks for the quick reply.

The assortment is well selected but the size of Records and Indexes is insane.
I have also enabled the compression feature.

Do you have any other ideas? Is there anything to consider after the feature has been activated?

    Thank you.

The compression won't happen immediately after activation.. Make sure that you have configured the store hours as well. On the second link, there are some commands to enable compression at table level as well.

Also, consider running, inventory dimensions cleanup in batch to make sure that you have only active records in the INVENTDIM table in HQ.

    Hi experts!

Did you get a solution to this problem ?

Currently we are facing the same issue and I have tried everything that is suggested in the documentation .

I even tried running these procedures provided by standard in local , to see if this the space can be reduced(did not work) :

    My top tables include :

By any chance , did you write a periodic task or batch job in AX to purge the old items ?? That is the only solution currently that I can think of.
