Receiving an Error When Importing Personalization from File

Hello All:

We have a workspace we wish to import entitled "BASS" that has 4 tiles.

2 tiles are loaded and 2 are not.   We receive the error "The imported document contains one or more personalized lists or tiles that failed security validation and cannot be used in this workspace. The list(s) that failed validation has been removed from your workspace."

Both users (exporting and importing) are SysAdmin.

    Hi Paul,

    I have seen this error before. This error comes when one or more queries used on a tile or list contains a filter on the user ID. It works only with non personal filters.

    Hi Simon,

    If the initial user is creating a tile, there might be a query range used where the User ID is stored in the query. In that case, you will receive this error. There is no solution, other than recreating the same personalization or try to edit the blob parts of an exported personalization (as xml) where the user ID can be stored in hexadecimal values.

    Simon/ Andre, we are in PU25 version - same error.  Even stranger, the export runs fine - but when i come back to MY custom workspace several of the tiles are gone (not the user that i'm trying to get have imported)....

    I'm using very simple filter, no user id in it.  Have you seen a doc on how to edit the blob to remove what ever personalization is buried in it?  I have an open ticket with support, but not making progress with it.

    Hi Chris,

    It would be possible to open a hexadecimal editor and search for possible user names in the query values. I haven't done it myself. There was an issue with custom workspaces, but should be fixed already.

    Have debugged this and found that userID is in our queries.

    Will probably need a customization to solve this.

    We have reported our findings to Microsoft - so lets see if they fix this.
