Hello all,
I just took over the inventory management position at my firm, and am fairly new to GP. One thing that I have noticed is the lack of knowledge regarding warehouse mapping. We don't make any of our own items, more of a distributor than anything, regarding inventory. In regards to GP, what are some recommended tools to use to map our warehouses (multiple locations) as efficiently as possible.
Thank you all for your help!

I have the same question (0)Congratulations on the new position!
Dynamics GP has inventory functionality but it falls short of having full warehouse management functionality found in a typical WMS. It is not geo-spacial aware, does not hold volumetic product info etc.
There are companies that provide simple to complex warehouse management systems that integrate with GP, but it will get expensive if you want to get into auto stock put away and such like.
On the other hand, many companies run quite happily without the need for such levels of sophistication. In the past we've produced "heat maps" of product stock churn, age, etc against bin locations and such like using SQL reports. I've also seen some interesting things done with Power BI for warehouse mapping, worth using your search engine of choice to look that one up, I think there are you-tube videos on it too.
So you are not "missing" anything, its not there to find in the native product.
