I recently came across this issue where after creating an RTV the System will auto generate a Credit memo.
Some times I know we need this but I can not find a rhyme or reason as to why some times it does and others times it does not.

Hi Joe

Yes - a quick test of a zero dollar item did not produce a CM, while the same test with an item that had cost did.

So I would say that is certainly a possible cause of not getting a CM created.

Everything but the Repair and Replace RTV path should generate a credit memo.

When GP doesn't create a credit memo, is the unit cost of the item that was sent back 0?

I would expect to see a CM from a Credit type RTV or perhaps a Replace type.
