AX 2012 R3 Retail Ecommerce with Multiple Ecommerce Sites

We are looking for conformation that a company can have multiple Web sites that all come from the same inventory.  In AX, I think you control the inventory to be on the ecommerce site using the via retail product catalogs, but can it be pointed to multiple different ecommerce sites?  So, I have product A, and I have so much inventory.  I want it to be on Web site A, B and D, but not in site C.  Is that custom development or does AX Retail Ecommerce handle this scenario out of the box?

Yes you can have multiple sites with the same or different items in 1 or more catalogs

    technet.microsoft.com/.../jj728671.aspx

    technet.microsoft.com/.../jj991927.aspx

If what you are asking is the following I have 1 Warehouse where i stock all/most items for all Websites A,B,C,D i want the inventory level for the item to be displayed on ABD but not C? then you would assign the same warehouse to ABD and a different one to C on the online stores. There are configurations required if they exist in different legal entities though

If you are referring to multiple sites using the Assortment/catalogue this can also be done with manual exclusion made EG base assortment with Cat 1 used by ABD ,Base assortment with Cat 2 used by C

SharePoint ecommerce deployment, in general, consists of 2 Web Sites - one for Product Catalog and one for Publishing Portal. In general, you will need one instance of Product Catalog per channel, so, if, in your scenario above you were talking about one single channel only then you would need to do customizations.

This link shows how to deploy multiple instances of Online Store on the same SharePoint farm:

Install multiple Microsoft Dynamics AX Retail online stores [AX 2012]

So to answer your question there should be understanding whether you have 1 channel per each of your web sites (by the way, how exactly you expect the web sites to be different?) or not.

In terms, of development SharePoint eCommerce is available on R3 CU8.

Sitecore are a strategic partner with Microsoft and also have an integration

The only reference I know of using the SharePoint integration live is www.platypusshoes.com.au (not sure if it is R3)
