Hi
Normally the SQL server uses port 1433, is it possible to configure the DAX 2009 AOS server to connect to a different port ?
Thanks in advance
Kind regards
Steen

Hi,
I have read something in the installation manual about this and I checked on the Dynamics AX Server Configuration Utility. In the database tab there is a last radiobutton for 'custom settings' and an option to set TCP/IP port. I did not investigate it. I had the feeling it will not use Windows Authentication in that case. SQL authentication is less secure.

I'm not 100% sure but the 'Custom settings' is for Oracle
You are right. I have tried to add :1433 as a portnumber. But that did not work. But this does:
Put for servername <servername>, <portnumber>
I used the default port in this way and it worked: MyServerName,1433
If I change it to portnumber 1444 for instance, it does not list any databases anymore. So I think this is a solution for you.
Please revert back if my second solution is oke by putting Resolved in the subject of your post.
