Cannot enable Batch number field as an Item coverage dimension

Hi,

I want to make Batch number a Coverage dimension for Item Coverage. I have marked the Coverage plan by dimension checkbox in the Tracking dimension groups form, yet the Batch number field is not enabled in the Item coverage form.

Am I missing something else?

It is not possible to enable it by batch (serial or pallet). It is there due to the common design of the form. It is not really advisable to set a coverage by a batch number. In essence you would be stating you need 10 of Batch A in stock and when you have 9 order more of Batch A. Very few industries have the capability of batch reuse like this, it is a tracking mechanism only. Attributes of a batch to get a similar like, but once a batch is used it is used, you need more of the item, and the batch will be a new batch.

    Hi Steven

So, this means it is not possible to set Batch number as a Coverage dimension?

That is correct, as standard you cannot set a coverage point for stock to be based upon the batch number.
