Attach live data to UAT server

Dear Experts, I have one live server and one test server(UAT). In my UAT server there have very old data. I want to attach the live database backup there. How can I take a backup of live data and attach with UAT server. please give me some idea to do this.

Hi,

if tables structures in Live and UAT databases are the same, you can try using 'Export to a Data File' and 'Import from a Data File' functions from within NAV. It's very simple and self-explanatory once you run these, but just need to make sure tables are the same, otherwise you can't import it into UAT.

Hi MKY,

You can take SQL backup of the Live and UAT database, Restore the UAT database with the Live backup.

Take SQL backup from Live DB and restore it on UAT server.

Hi,
Attach you management Studio with the live data server and take a back.
Now disconnect and Reconnect SQL Management Studio with the UAT server.
Restore the backup at UAT Server.
