Cannot set permissions on new virtual entity after deploymet

HI,

I have set up a new virtual entity on a org. I extracted that solution and deployed on a new instance. I had included adding read permissions on the new virtual entity in the set of changes to deploy. However, post deployment I see that it shows an error that I don't have permissions - "You do not have permission to access these records. Contact your Microsoft Dynamics 365 administrator for help.", and checking on the role permissions shows that the read permissions have not been set. Not only that, I cannot even set permissions here since the options are not showing. '

Does anyone know what is going wrong here? The highlighted entity shows no options to set permissions:
