Hi All,

I am new in Dynamics, but in the company I am working will be implemented MS Dynamics NAV 2017, but the requirement is License to all people in our company,  but I think something is wrong, I would like to know who workers need access to MS Dynamics NAV 2017 to make a Plan of Implementation and to buy the correct number of Licenses.

For example, Do we need license to technician people? Is the ERP oriented to Administration or to all people in the company?

Please your advice and thanks in advance to your help.

Yes, they need a license. But remember that these licenses are concurrent, so start with less licenses than your real number of users. For certain scenario, for example users that only need to compile a timesheet, you can also check the limited user license (few dollars). Hi Stefano,

Thank for your answer, to understand, MS Dynamics NAV 2017 would be used to administrative, sales, project and financial activities, for example, all people make a document to time-sheet records, if we have our time-sheets on MS Dynamics, all people will need a license to put their time-sheets in MS Dynamics?

The first thing to know is that NAV licenses are CONCURRENT licenses (users connected simultaneously), so if you have for example 100 employee, you don't need 100 licenses but usually many less than this.

NAV is an ERP, so its usage in a company depends on departments involved in the processes. Normally areas like finance, purchases, sales, warehouse and inventory, production are all involved in the ERP process (so they're users). Technician? It depends on what you mean and what they do, if they need to interact with the company business they could have impact also on the ERP.

Plan the usage with some company managers or key users and remember that you don't need a license for every user in the company (and that you can also scale up the licenses in the future accordingly to the real usage).
