Detailed Customer Aging

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by Microsoft Employee

It appears that there is only a summary aging report currently for customers.  Many clients like to be able to view all open transactions for a customer in order to view this information for collections.  What report is best recommend to use as a starting point for a potential modification (the detailed trial balance appears the most promising to me)?  Is there any additional documentation on modifying the RDLC layouts - as it appears there is no word template for the detailed trial balance or the aging. Thank you!

    RE: Detailed Customer Aging

Hi Jennifer!  It appears that this method no longer works, in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations there is no Report tab available when viewing all customers.  The link is broken too, any advice?

Jennifer, can you point us in the right direction for how we would add other fields from D365 to a report? the information you provided so far does not let us add any of the fields we want, it only let's us select from what is already there. In general, i feel like there has to be a way to do this, as almost all clients have custom requirements for reporting.   We are happy to open a case with MS if that is what is required, we just need some clear direction on what D365 is capable of in regards to custom reporting.

Great thank you!  Yes, I was going to the search field, but I was using the word Aging, not Aged - thank you so much!

    Hello Kaydee,

Here's where I'm going to print the report that I discussed, maybe we are looking at different places:

    1. Go to Customers to take you to your Customer List

    2. Once you see your list of Customers, click the REPORT tab.

    3. Click the Finance Reports drop down.

    4. Select Aged Accounts Receivable

    5. Another window will pop up for report options, make your selections and then make sure 'Print Detail' is checked.

    6. I just printed the report to pdf to review and make sure it has the outstanding aged transactions per customer.

Please let me know if you still don't see the report I'm describing above.  I'm hoping this report is closer to what you are looking for.

    Regards,

    Jennifer Reinhardt

    RE: Detailed Customer Aging

    Hi Jennifer,

The only report that is available is one called Customer Summary Aging - there is no detail checkbox.  There is a report called the Customer Detailed Aging, which i'm guessing is probably our best bet at this point. I just find it very frustrating that there is not even a detailed aging out of the box for customers. It also appears that we can't add any fields to the RDLC layouts (other than those that are predefined). That doesn't really help as this specific request is regarding how to do we add fields to reports? Feeling very stuck and not sure what to tell our customer at this time regarding this shortcoming. Thank you!

    Hello Kaydee,

I think the best report for what you are describing is the Aged Accounts Receivable report.  When the report options pop up to print this report there is a "Print Detail" checkbox, I think this will get you an aging report with outstanding invoices like you are looking for.

To edit RDLC layouts I have seen individuals use SQL Server Report Builder, but here's a link to some documentation on RDLC layouts: msdn.microsoft.com/.../dd338753(v=nav.90).aspx
