Activity creation based on a CRM View of a different entity

Hi all, 

I am wondering if it is possible to automatically create Activities for a list of Opportunities that can be found in a View. 

Here is my manual workflow: 

  • Every Monday I pull a View that lists all Opportunities that haven't been modified in X number of days
  • Next, I manually create Activities for each of those opportunities and assign them to the relevant sales person

Would it be possible to have Dynamics automate this task every Monday? The list of Opportunities would change from week to week. Thanks!

    Hello,

    I think you could try this by these three different ways.

    The first, you can write a plugin and execute it's logic from a custom button on an entity. You can download the view fetchxml and use it to retrieve the opportunities needed, then from there, the opportunities could be created.  

    Also, you can try this by workflow within dynamics. But you will need a custom activity and to the same as I mentioned before to get the results using the fetchxml from the view.  

    Another approach will be use powerAutomate:  flow.microsoft.com/.../  for this.
