Increase the Description field size in the Accounts Receivable Payment Journal

Our users are trying to enter a longer description in the AR->payment journal but they can not enter more than 50 characters.

Same problem is there in invoice journal and AP payment journals as well

can anyone tell me how to increase the size of the description field using AOT

Hi Muhammad Yousaf!

If you need to increase field size just in one particular table you should create extended EDT and use it in your table.

If you need to increase field size in whole system you should change EDT properties.

but it does not help, i am sorry

I need to enter longer description in AR & AP --> Customer Payment Journal & Vendor Payment Journals

I remember i did it before but now i forgot, cause i am not a technical guy...

it is better if someone comes up with the solution and in stepsl

yes, this is what i want to do, currently we can only enter 50 Characters

Just do it like in Excel when you increase column size. But keep in mind what this field allows you to enter no more than 100 characters.

it is great that you are trying to help

but as you have mentioned about 100 Characters...

i want to increase this limit of 100 Characters... i want to make it 150

i hope i could convey the message... for a better understanding

Hi Muhammad Yousaf!

You can't do it from user interface because of field's properties

You should ask of your developers to make changes in AOT.
