How can I delete the system dependencies so I can delete the custom entity?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi All,

I want to delete a custom entity but CRM is detecting a dependency to a form in another entity that was removed and published all customization, But still showing same dependency error on that form.
Any ideas how i can remove this dependency so I can delete the custom entity?

You should open a support ticket, at this point it seems like youve done everything you can, we've seen this issue before, Microsoft had to run some query to remove ghost components from our system.

    Hi Leah Ju,

There was Worklist Todo(Custom Entity) parent entity and created relationship with Referral entity as 1:N

but I was deleted that relationship. And there is no sub-grid exits any form.

As per your suggestion, I cleared the cache but still facing same issue.

    Hi Saroj,

From your screenshot, the parent entity is ‘Referral’ entity, so Referral entity and custom entity (worklist todo) is 1:N relationship.

So you need check for sub-grids exists or not in the new form of the Referral entity, and check for lookup field exists or not in the custom entity form.

If this custom entity still cannot be deleted, you can try to clear cache to test again.

    Regards,

    Leah Ju

Yes... I already published all customization and whatever required for deleting dependency, all do that.

    Still facing same issue.

Wow, yea it looks like you already cleared everything.  Some small guesses:

    1 Any business rules?

    2. Try publishing all customizations from the solution? - im sure youve done this.

Based on your final sentence you have removed any/all lookup fields.

How about on the left hand side of the form designer?  Where the related records show, navigation.  If the entity is listed there it will be dependent.  Ill grab a screen shot.

Updated: here, does the entity show up on the left side?
