Error message when emailing invoices

Several times when I'm attempting to email an invoice from Financials, I get an error on a blue screen that says, "Sorry that didn't work. An error has occurred. Restart." This eventually "fixes" itself which is good, but it doesn't help me when I need to send an invoice ASAP. Is this a known bug or is it possible that I have done something to cause the error?
