Why Action Center "Workflow contains disabled or deleted user" when notification is No

D365 10.0.13 I have the role system Administrator, and I receive the Action Center message "Workflow contains disabled or deleted user" (when appropriate to a failed workflow).  But in my User Options, I do not have Send notifications to Action Center enabled.  How can I turn off these action center notifications for failed workflows?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

What do you mean by failed workflow?

Have you checked the 'person' setup in your user id? seems the user ID has wrong Person setup which comes from Human resource module.

The failed workflow is unimportant.  Yes, my user ID is connected to the correct person.  What I am asking is, what is the cause for when the workflow errors, does it send the administrator a message about the failure (even when notification is off)?  And more importantly how can I turn it off?

    Hi,

Workflow failure error can be set into workflow template as well, there is no OOB function to send each error to admin.

And, this is not clear, what exactly you want to turn off?

To turn off the action center notification of workflow errors, when the workflows are not ones I have submitted.  I'm getting them for any workflow that errors submitted by any user.

    Hi Oceanfish,

Can you check what settings for notifications you have on the workflow configuration and the workflow message processing batch job?

In this case, you can also find the root cause and change the user to an active user.

Might be "user" is not set to enabled as mentioned by Andre who is actually part of the approval process.

    Question is;

-- Have you imported this workflow from any other legal entity where the approvers may be different?

In this case, you need to set the right approvers applicable for that legal entity in this workflow.

-- Is your workflow is "user" based or "position hierarchy" based?

If this is "position hierarchy" based, then please check if the "Worker" is linked with the same position as set in the workflow configuration.

-- Also check if the "Employee" and "System user" roles are assigned to that user id.

-- Last; please check if the "Person" is linked with the "User" and that user is set to enabled or not.

    Regards,
    Sourav

    Good morning Oceanfish,

Can you please open your workflow in the designer and check the different steps and assignments?

There must be something wrong with the people who have the different activities assigned; as stated in the message, some might be disabled or deleted.

Once you got that fixed in the workflow designer, close and activate the workflow and then try again to submit a transaction into your workflow.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thank you to everyone for trying to solve the workflow error part of my request.  But I thought this would happen,  this community is trying to solve my workflow error problem, and not answer my real question, the notification I, the Sys Admin, see in the Action Center.  I don't care what workflow, or which user it is for, and I don't care that they happen (because I can see them in the Workflow History), what I want is for the notifications to stop appearing.  And the answer isn't in the Workflow Designer, because those are designed to go back to the requester, approver, etc.  Where do we configure the notices which go to the System Admins?

I know some of you will say, "fix the workflow errors and the notification will stop".  Respectfully, in this case, I'm looking for the option to turn off workflow notification to anyone with Sys Admin role, not to fix the workflow problems.

Sorry Oceanfish26, To me this was not absolutely clear and I read the thread - as probably everybody else - more with a focus on the workflow problem :-)

    About the action center notification:

I don't know a way how you can specifically switch it off for a specific message type (workflow related messages) or something alike.

Maybe a developer can help here if this is a 'pain' for you.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thanks Ludwig.  Yes, I really struggled with how to write this to focus on the right part, but there wasn't a perfect description.  I concluded I would have to rely on time and discussion to get to the final request.
