I have posted sales order entries for past years and i want to Mop them up, if i delete those entries, would it affect other entries?

You can run a routine called Delete invoiced Sales orders, you can find this via the search

Deleting invoiced sales orders will not affect other transactions in the system. So that is safe to do.
