    Hi partner,

You can use this tool to convert a Local Option Set to a Global Option Set.

    https://github.com/daryllabar/DLaB.Xrm.XrmToolBoxTools

For how to use it, please refer to this video.

    Hi EKL,

you can use XRM ToolBox (Home Â· XrmToolBox) plugin Attribute Manager to convert local option set to global option set.

Just a note you can do it for custom field only as system doesn't allow System fields to be deleted.

Hopefully you will be able to map the business requirements as needed.

let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Adnan

Hello Adnan, I need to convert Preferredmethodofcontact from contact/leads table and the field preferredmethodofcontact was not available since its not a custom field.

What's the approach to be followed for non custom fields.

    Hi EKL,

in this case you'd require to create the global optionset field manually. Also you can copy the system optionset field text + values and paste in your custom field text + values.

    please refer docs.microsoft.com/.../create-edit-global-option-sets

let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks

    Adnan

    Hi,

Try using the following plugin of the XRM Tool Box:

    https://www.xrmtoolbox.com/plugins/OptionSetEditor/

Or, you have to manually add all the values (open both option sets and copy-paste labels, values one by one).

    Hi Wahaj,

Thank you, let me give the details what Im trying to achieve.

I want to convert local Option set field "PreferredMethodofcontact" to Global Option Set in both Lead and Contact tables. Attribute Manager from XRMtoolbox will not work as iPreferredMethodofcontact field is not an custom field, hence  created manually a new Global Optionset "Preferredmethodofcontact"  copying values from Optionset field.

Now after manually creating global option set, I want to migrate data of local option set to newly created Global Option set, is there OOB way to achieve it ?
