IIS or not with Ax 2012 R3

Hi

I'm trying to understand if there are any advantages or disadvantages of using IIS with Ax 2012 R3 compared to the native web server within the AOS (services on WCF runtime I think is what it's called here)

In a scenario where bespoke WCF services hosted on a server that communicates with Biztalk services that then communicate with the Ax WCF runtime services, would adding IIS into this scenario potentially improve the ability to scale or improve performance?

    Hi DynamicAxDude ,

Main advantage of IIS is ability to expose Web service to internet over HTTP. NetTCP services have better performance but limited to local network and to Microsoft stack, so in case your consumer sits outside of local network or does not support NetTCP you have to go with IIS; otherwise I prefer to use NetTCP.

    Thanks for clearing that up
