RemoteApp

We are currently running dynamics AX using TS Web Access RemoteApp.

We have TS setup to logoff/disconnect a user if their idle time exceeds 50 minutes. When the limit is met, a pop-up window comes up, telling the user the limit has been exceeded.  After closing the pop-up, TS is picking up mouse movement and therefore not showing the remoteapp as idle.  Has anyone had similar remoteapp issues?  Is there a setting or fix we are missing?

    Hi RTole

Just a question: How is that problem related to Dynamics AX?

May be posted into the wrong forum?

    Hi,

Maybe I am asking the question in the wrong way.

Can users be automatically logged off in AX after a certain period of time of inactivity?

    Sorry, for missunderstood your question.

Yes, you can set an inactivity trigger: Open Tools/Options, than goto Tabpage "General". Look for the field 'Automatic Shutdown'. You can enter a value in minutes.

I've tried applying the automatic shutdown, but the apply button seems to be greyed out.  If you close the window, it saves the value, but the shutdown does not happen.

    Thanks for the assistance.

It works for me, I'm running Version 5.0.1500.1313

But I haven't test it in a Terminalserver, just a 'normal' windows session. Can you first try this too? I could imagine that a client re-start is needed if you change the shutdown setting.

     Regards
    Patrick

95% of our users are TerminalServer users.  I will see if I can find a user who is a local install.

     We're running version 5.0.1000.52.

    Regards,

    Rob

Just did a Test with a RDP-Connection; works too.

Ok, so could my problem be a remoteapp issue? Or a security issue?

    Thanks,

     Rob

    Hi Rob

I don't think there are security settings in AX to deactivate the shut down option. But I don't know if there are Windows security settings which cancels a application to close (but have never heard such things).

My test was a RDP-Connection on a Windows Server 2003. It was not a "Terminalserver", just a 'normal' Server. And I'm afraid, I don't know about remote app settings from Windows Terminal servers.

But have you tried the shut down without Terminalserver yet? This helps you do determ what direction the problem is going to.

For some reason, the apply button is greyed out for everyone.  So when we change the shutdown time, it does not seem to be applied.
