Attachments in Field Service Mobile Application

Posted on by 30

Hi guys,

I was trying to attach documents in the Work Order and the Service Tasks on that work order from the Field Service Mobile App. However, upon trying to do that I saw that I can only capture photos and attach or add notes as text. However I cannot attach any documents / attachment  to either Work Order or Service Tasks. I also read on the community that this is a gap on the Field Service module for the app.

Is there a work around for this? How can I attach documents to both of these entities from the Mobile application so that they directly get uploaded to their respective folder on Sharepoint?

Thanks in advance. :)

    Great content on this thread!!

Has anyone found a way for a user to be able to select multiple photos from their camera roll and upload in one hit, rather than only being able to take a single photo and save at a time?

A multi-upload feature would save a bucket of time for the APP user

    Thanks

    Hi Miloni,

In order to attach Documents to the entity records, you will need to follow the below steps,

    1. Enable “Documents and Share Point” options in Documents in Woodford,

    Please refer below screenshot,

    2. Navigate to entity form of the Entity (For which you wanted to upload documents on Share Point), and add the “Cloud Documents List”.

    Please refer below screenshot,

    3. Then double click on the “Cloud Document List”, Navigate to the properties and make sure that the “Select File” option is checked.

    Please refer below screenshot,

    4. Then click on the “Plus” (i.e. “+”) button on the “Clod Document List” and select any file using “Select File Option”. After selecting file save the record and sync the App with CRM.

    Please refer below screenshots,

    5. This way you will be able to upload Documents to the Share Point using Field Service Mobile App.

    Hello Miloni,

Did you activate "select file" functionality in woodford?

    www.resco.net/.../4.5.4.3_2_mediatab.png

You can activate it in woodford, on the Workorder and service task form, Signature (media) tab.

    See, 4.5.4.3 Media tab

    Regards,

    Miloni,

In the mobile configuration, you can enable SharePoint integration for the woodford project.  You would add the Document List to the respective forms.  You also, for users logging in, have to specify if they will use their D365 login.  See my screenshot
