Transaction type functionality

Hi All,

Our client requires to add additional fields in transaction type within Customer payment journal.

and also wants to know the functionality of the transaction type.

Please can someone help me with this.

Hi,

Transaction types are used for reporting purposes. For customer payment on customer transaction are used for to understand the purpose of the transaction. Also transaction types are used for to setup the default descriptions.

I think you meant additional values (not Fields) in Transaction Type. It's a Base enum, if the IsExtensible property of this enum is True then you can add more values. However, the impact will be all over the application where it's being used.
