Can you say more as to what you mean by a technical requirement template?

    Hi Feridun,

A technical requirement document that pertains to the technical aspects that a system/product must fulfill, such as performance-related issues, reliability issues, and availability issues, but that should be more CRM oriented.

Some kind of template that could o be applied for different CRM system.

    Thank you.

    N.

Right, I see what you mean. But, I don't know of any such documents.

Understood. I did wonder about SureStep but I don't know much about it. It is a project management methodology for Microsoft Partners, but you might be able to find info on it. It might have what you are looking for.

Yes, I am informed about SureStep, but I wanted a more concrete document.

    Thank you, anyway.

Great question. Each of the consulting practices (esp the larger ones) do in fact have their own sets of CRM Tech Reqs, Gap analysis, design and deployment documents. The question is can you somehow obtain a version of that that is willing to share. I dare say most likely not. If you can Great! But knowing that most companies hold their internal docs and processes secret and as a marketing differentiators a better approach might be to create a Wiki article and get the community to contribute so that all can use it.

Here is how I would start it. Think of this document building process from each major piece of CRM and document every option that "can" be set and ask the question why is this setting the appropriate value for this install from Infrastructure (unless online) to Module (aka Sales, Marketing, PSA etc) Then

For each major CRM Module then feature within CRM define each option and configuration change that "Could" be made. Each is an Heading or at least within a table in your Word Tech Spec Template - For each place guidance instructions as to questions that should be asked and how choices made would or could impact Users Experience, Customizations, Integration, Data integration or migration etc.

Next Define the Custom (from customer) Requirements and goals of the CRM implementation project.

Then from there create a Gap Analysis document template that defines the gaps between what is standard OOB features from CRM to that of the Custom requirements. From there you can build a Project Plan.

While my suggestions are simply off the cuff, and not well thought out, as a community and place to contribute I would be willing to bet that some solid well experienced CRM consultants would be eager to share there experiences and review and contribute to such needed templates.

    Hi Nrla

I would say go down the surestep route - The documentation and process within it will be the most aligned out of the box templates you will find.

Most companies will have their own documentation and will not want to share it
