Reconciling Physical Inventory (INVENTSUM) with Inventory transactions (INVENTTRANS)

Hi.  Our inventory value report for a product reveals a Inventory Quantity of 136.00 and yet the physical inventory from the INVENTSUM table is 83.00.  After some investigation we have discovered that the difference is in fact the picked quantity as found on the Physical Inventory by inventory dimension.   We did not expect this result as the general ledger inventory table is not impacted by picking.   Is this normal behaviour for AX 2012 R3, or is it perhaps driven by a parameter about which I'm not aware?   Cheers. James

I don't have access to AX2012 environment, bu I will answer based on D365. Behavior of report is more less the same on both version

    You have :

Inventory: Financial Quantity – The quantity that has been financially updated.

Inventory: Physical Quantity Posted – The quantity that has been physical updated.

Inventory: Quantity – The total quantity of all the quantity columns on the report.

You are comparing values from column "Inventory: Quantity". That sums previous columns. You should be getting quantity on hand inventory from invent Sum, that are not yet  Financia posted. That is the case ?
