O365 SMTP Settings on Navision

Hi, Currently, we have implemented the Microsoft Dynamics Navision application for our company. There are SMTP settings on that application to notify the notifications through email. We have setup Our existing O365 email settings as SMTP settings on Dynamics Navision. But the emails of notifications are getting delivered by 12.00 AM each day; not real time delivery when approval or any notification generated from the application. Therefore we changed SMTP settings of the application to Gmail settings as a testing purpose and it works properly in real time. So, we noticed that there is issue on email delivery using O365 SMTP settings by delaying to midnight each day. I've attached error on Navision application when testing the email settings using O365 SMTP settings. Could anyone please help us to resolve it.

It seems that you are using authenticated relay, for which you do need permissions in order to send as/on behalf of another user. Instead, you can try configuring the "direct send" method as detailed in this article: technet.microsoft.com/.../dn554323.aspx

    Hi

Configure "Send As" permission on your mail server so that agent accounts can send email as your outbound mailbox account: support.microsoft.com/.../2572646

Hi Stefano, As per support URL shared by you, we have configured option 01 on Navision 2017 and the result is same that having same error msg.

    Server/smart host- smtp.office365.com

    Port- 587

Therefore, we again configured option 03 as we need to send the email outside. The test email was successful.

    Server/smart host- XXXXXXXX-XXXX.mail.protection.outlook.com

    Port- 25

Why we cannot use the server details of option 01 on Navision? Because, When you apply office 365 server settings button on SMTP Mail Setup on Navision, It will automatically replace the settings as option 01.

    Please help us.

Have you checked whether or not the e-mail account used has Multi-Factor Authentication enabled? If it takes a while for the error to pop up after you initiate the test, that is likely the case.
