AX 2012 R3 - Inventory status on MRP

Hi everyone,

I have a doubt about how to integrate the new inventory status dimension with the MRP.

To be more specific, is there anyway to indicate which statuses id. will be taken into account when running the Master Plan?

I couldn´t found too much information about it.

Up to AX 2012 R2 i was setting up the Master Plan to be integrated with the the batch disposition code, and i was able to indicate which batch disposition code would be consider by master planning.

If i decided to have coverage (in the storage dimension group) to inventory status level i think that i would need to indicate for each status how to replenish it (by purchasing, transfering or production).

What would happen if i decided to keep the level of coverage to the warehouse level? Would it just consider available statuses (doesn´t matter the id. of them) and ignore blocking statuses?

I found out the the following new field on the master plan:

MRP-ESTADOS.PNG

Is it related to my question?

Any related information or site to found further information will be thankful!

I believe it would be easy to test this...

Also I believe that only available stock is accounted for in MRP.

I think you'll need to enable 'Coverage by dimension' on the Inventory status on your Storage dimension group.

    Hi, thanks for your reponses.

I checked it and only available statuses are taken into account when running the master plan. So, if you have a blocking status and your coverage level is up to the warehouse level, AX won't consider that quantities.

Tim, think that if i have the coverage level up to the inventory status level, i will need to indicate on the coverage group to each specific dimension how to replenish it.

However, i couldn't find information about that new field about "Consume on-hand inventory". What is related to? Do you know which effect has it on my planning?

I found this on the Consume on-hand inventory parameter:
