Financial reports not working in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations after Upgrade from AX2012

Hi all,

We have just gone live with our Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (cloud-deployment) (Finance/Supply Chain) following the upgrade path from AX2012.

During our UAT, I exported our existing custom reports (definitions?) from AX2012 Management Reporter and imported them into our D365 sandbox environment and they ran without issue.

Post Go-Live, I anticipated that I would need to reset the financial reporting data mart - which I have done. However, all reports (both default and custom) in both our Sandbox and Production environments, are not generating. The following is displayed after attempting to view any report:

  • Make sure that the report was generated with the following settings:
    • A valid report date
    • Valid dimensions and accounts
    • A valid reporting tree unit
Change your report options or work with your report designer or generator to make sure the report is using the right settings.
How can I our reports to work again?

    Hi,

    What is happening? is there any error while generating MR reports, or its just not getting generated at all?

    You can find out the "Queued reports" from MR designer whether those are failed or in processing status.

    Please note- sometimes it takes a long time based on the Legal entity size and data and also currency conversations if you have countries  with different current because these are global report and generates for all LEs.

    Hi Ramit and thanks for responding,

    There is no error generating the report (from within General Ledger > Inquiries and Reports > Financial Reports). There is only the message: This report view contains no data.

    Generating a report from the Report Designer yields the same result. In the "Queue item details" window, the logged message reads This report contains no data.

    In Report definition can you check the Integration Status ( tools -> Integration Status )

    Currently, Integration Status shows Waiting for 4 integration maps to complete...

    However, this was not the case yesterday when the status of all maps was RanToCompletion - I have not done another Data Mart reset today.

    I can appreciate that, as Ramit mentioned, sometimes it takes a while based on the Legal entity size and data. I don't know how to judge the size of our legal entities, we only have 1 with data and we're a small business so I can't imagine it's that large.

    Regardless, perhaps the pending status of the integration is the reason the reports are currently not working?

    I did this already for our Staging environment by pressing the Stop button and then Start. This did not seem to have an effect.

    Hello,

    My advice is as follows

    1: Go to MR designer> tools> reset data mart>check reset data mart check box> select reason as other> ok

    2: It will take between 20 mins to 2 hours based on data and tier to complete the data mart reset.

    3: Log off and login and generate new report (first time generate with Sys admin role)

    4: Update us with the result

    Hello, 

    Make sure that MainAccount has been select in General Ledger | Setup | Financial Reporting Setup

    If it hasn't been then add it and do a Data Mart reset.
