Good day,

With reference to the above, we have a few unposted invoices a couple of months old that the salesperson keeps saying he is waiting on the PO. I would like to suggest to Finance the documents could be posted and the PO numbers inputted subsequently.

From an audit perspective is this normal? I think the longer the documents remain as unposted to me it makes it less collectible.

Receivables - Edit Transaction Information

If the transactions originate in the Receivables Management module (for example Transactions > Sales > Transaction Entry), you can use the Edit Transactions window to add the PO so that it can appear in inquiries, statements, etc. after posting (but wouldn't show on the Receivables Transaction Entry transaction prior to posting).

If the transactions originate outside RM (for example Transactions > Sales > Sales Transaction Entry), editing the transaction after posting won't update the SOP tables with the information. You'll still see it on a customer statement, but

From a non-GP process perspective and assuming the PO number is required for the customer to pay, you may want to review how a sales was entered/completed without the required authorized PO being on file.
