Dear All,
Can someone edit the customer group on sales order or on sales invoice?
Because in the master data there is a customer with a customer group "Dealer" but sometimes the invoices are posted with another customer group and that is creating a lot of problems for us.
I have checked the modification date and time on customer and its not modified.
Any help is appreciated.

At standart sales order form, custgroup field does not exist but there is custgroup field on salestable. Can you check if any customization made to add this field to form?

Thanks for replying, if somehow we add the field to sales order form, it is still not editable.
This thing surprises me that how can someone post the sales invoice with different customer group without editing it from customer master form.

I don't think that it would be a good practice allowing people to change customer groups on the fly when they are entering sales orders.
Would recommend to use a different field if you need to analyze your data based on that (Ex: financial dimension).
Changing the customer group might cause a mess in accounting if people are just flipping it back and forth.

That is I am concerned about, customer group is changing by itself, did the debugging but couldnt find anything.

Agree with your finding. What's the reason behind this customer group change? Are you interested in analyzing the data? If so, maybe a new financial dimension can help?!
