how to Use Discount on Invoices based on project journals

We are using project module amd Journals (Hour and Expence) to invoice customers for our service department. One problem we have is that we cannot show discount on the project invoices, our AX dealer says :Discount in the project has been raised previously and with the experience we have from a few other projects, this is something we do not recommend nor wants to start with.
The project module is based on contract prices

Do you have any idea how to solve this ?

Hi KWA,

It would be a quite challenging customization. If you only had hours, you could try to use negative indirect costs for this. From a partner I would expect at least an investigation about the impact to the system with an effort calculation. A partner can recommend to so something or prevent you from mistakes. As a customer you could be dependent on a discount model and it could be a very important topic to have it customized.

Hi KWA,

Similar problem even i am also facing where our client wants to record the discount they are issuing to their customers in Project Based Invoices but due to AX limitation we are also not able to provide them a standard solution readily available in Dynamics AX 2012.

Most probably we will provide them customized solution to record discount and once they have recorded discount in any particular field we have highlighted to them we need to take that discount appear to the Project Invoice Report template.
