Configuring AX to connect to secure report server

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi

I need to configure AX to connect to a secure reporting server (https).

I was hoping that it would be as simple as changing my report server configuration URLs, but I get the following error:

The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.

Any ideas on how to do this?

We are running Dynamics AX R3 with CU8, and are using SQL Server 2014

Thanks

Did you bind a new Web Service URL and Reporting Service URL using the SQL Server Reporting Services Configuration Manager on the machine hosting SSRS?

Remember to use a certificate that is trusted by machines that need to connect using HTTPS.

Also, make sure that the firewall is not blocking the communication on SSL port ( 443).

You can take a look at following articles/blogs to configure the SSRS for HTTPS:

    blogs.technet.microsoft.com/.../a-step-by-step-example-of-configuring-a-reporting-services-point-for-https-in-system-center-2012-configuration-manager (Step 1 and 2)

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../ms345223(v=sql.110).aspx

    Thanks,

Hi Brandon. Yes, we just added the new bindings to the current SSRS server.

Your trusted machine comment gave me an idea, and we found the problem. We need to use the fully qualified domain name for the security certificate to be validated correctly.

    Thanks
