What is the difference between sales and posted sales ?

Basically, it relates to all the architecture of the system: there are unposted documents and posted documents. You create a sales order or invoice and start editing it. You can change status and close it, you can send it for approvals, you can print some forms from that, make reservations of stock, but it does not generate any accounting and item transactions. When you physically post the document or part of the quantity in the document, corresponding accounting and item transactions are generated, and all the needed ledgers (customer ledger, VAT ledger, etc.). Once the document is fully posted, it is deleted and only the posted documents exist in the system. Once posted, the posted documents cannot be modified.
When doing the posting, you can separately post only the shipment (the items transaction), and invoice (for financial transactions)

Why can't you just tab/switch/move between POSTED and UNPOSTED from an option in the ribbon? You actually have to find the screen and open it, usually from whatever posted or unposted view you're in currently.
Why are you constantly searching for new windows to open, why not just be able to toggle between statuses of whatever you're working with?
