Error while Posting Movment Journal : Account number for transaction type Inventory, inventory loss does not exist.

Hello Everyone !

I am creating and posting a movement journal through code. my journal is being created and validate properly but when it come to posting it throws an error "Account number for transaction type Inventory, inventory Profit does not exist."

some time error is : "Account number for transaction type Inventory, inventory loss does not exist."

I have no idea why is it throwing this error. From error description I can only understand that there is some connection missing in accounts connected with accounts but even it doesnt give me any clue as i have weak functional understanding.

Hi Gulfam,

Did you check the Item group for the items which you inserted with your query that they have correct account mapping in it?

Hi,

I think it should have some records do not have completed GL code in this table. You can manual specify GL code in this table also. And run inventory closing process again.

also

check at table inventtransposting, search for suspect items that do not have ledger account specify for transaction type Production issue.

Thank you both for the reply.

I have create movement journal from movement journal form with same items and same offset account with same dimensions and posted it, it worked fine.

I assume that if there is any problem with account mapping or item group connections then it shouldn't have posted the manual journal. Isn't that the case ?

Hi,

I think the error only occurs in certain legal entities, in other legal entities the postings goes through with no problem r else it persists.

As i mentioned in my last comment, I have created manual movement journals and posted then with same item, dimensions, offset account and same company/legal entity.

still facing error for journal through code.

Hi,

The error is with the journalcheckpost class. There is something wrong with the ledger account-financial dimension combination that you use for posting and that is not setup in your account structures.

Hi Gulfam,

Yup, absolutely you are right. Inventory Profit and loss accounts generally used for inventory adjustment transaction and in case if you even don't have these account mapping you will be still able to post your movement journal as it does use your adjustment account.

Can you please recheck your item group (Inventory Adjustment account).

There was an error in ledger dimension and default dimension for the journal.
