I am trying a build an integration for Dynamics 365 CRM but the packaging for it is quite confusing. Can someone please help me understand how the product is packaged, the different versions and how to access the APIs/ SDK?

Dynamics crm comes as a solutions package for different modules and the Default solution is the one users can use to extend the package.
Version available so far: 2011 (deprecated), 2013,2015,8.1,8.2, 9.0, 9.2, 9.2
